Yup, big roller. I'm betting it was from the mexicali area.
Prolly a 5 or so. EDIT fixed a typo. it was hard to type because I was a little shook up. Yuk yuk, I crack me up. |

My kids (in their beds) were rooting it on. A multi peak shaker here - started with a rumble, then a bigger shake, then down to a rumble then up again. It wasn't enough to distract me from email...

USGS is saying 5.9 centered about 8 miles south of ocotillo wells. Lots O'earthquakes there recently:

"I went to Discount hobby today and bought a AR6200 and a spinner and a new eneloop 2000Mah and installed it into the new birthday Extra. Christmas cub was cheering in the background. Wow, we just had an earthquake. Anyway, the engine runs good and am looking forward to a maiden flight sometime this week." It sure beats when I was stationed on the east coast and in Mississippi, I don't recall anyone saying they didn't know we had a hurricane because they were driving. |
Wife and I felt it here - it rolled along for a long time.
Craziest earthquake I ever felt - seemed to last forever (or maybe just a minute or so). |
