A great read: War, by Sebastian Junger
 
The same guy who wrote The Perfect Storm (the book, not the sucky movie). Embedded with an Army platoon in Afghanistan. Incredible writing.

Haven't read it, but he was interviewed in the Newshour the other night. Seemed like a good read.

Yes.

It is also the companion piece to a documentary called "Restrepo" that is either out already or will be out soon.
