Any electric motor guru's out there??
One of my vehicle lifts in the shop has been acting up. It will " stall" sometimes when I first activate it. I hit the button, and it will go "buzz", but the motor will not spin. I pulled the motor last summer, and had it rebuilt locally , but a month later, it started doing the same exact thing.
All it takes to get the motor running when it does stall, is a real light tap of a wrench or hammer to the top of the motor and it will function perfectly. Once it starts , it works 100%. I removed , and installed the motor myself, and all electrical connections are of course, tight, and clean. When the motor was rebuilt, they replaced the capacitor, , brushes, bearings, and rewound the armature . I can no longer buy just the motor for this unit, and to replace it , I have to buy the whole power unit ( with pump), and it is rather pricey Oh yeah, this is 220v single phase. Any help appreciated
