HER name was Gracie Allen, with George Burns. "Burns and Allen".

Remember them, on TV. I know they were on radio long before, though.

Good memories...

You're old when you listened to the Indy 500 on the radio and AJ, Roger Ward or Jim Rathman won in a front engined roadster powered by an Offenhauser.

And you were out driving around with your AM only radio.

It was a big day when we got an FM radio in the old Dodge station wagon!!! I remember it better than our first colour TV set! (Mainly because I could not understand needing FM radio but I could easily understand why colour was sooo much better! Audra Barkley was nicer in colour as were the girls parading on Bonanza. Oh, and Genie and Mary Ann/Ginger! )

You are definitely getting old when you remember watching "I Love Lucy" when it was first run! I remember the whole family getting together having dinner and hurrying to be through in time to watch Lucy. circa 1954, 1955.

If you remember when concert tickets for Creedence, Steppenwolf, Chicago, Guess Who, Mountain, Allman Brothers, B.B. King, Yes, Butterfield Blues Band, Johnny Winter, etc. were less than $10.

Much less.

.You really are old when (apologies if a repost) the phrases:
..."use the force, Luke'
..."you feeling lucky, punk?'
..."sorry about that, Chief"
dropped into conversations at work are met with blank looks.

For the docs on board, how about explaining to the new kids about:
-ice baths for Swans,
-blind CVL placement,
-CAGS for single LAD lesions,
-partial gastrectomy / highly selective vagotomies for peptic ulcer disease,
-barium enemas
and, my personal favourite, no beta-blockes in CCF.

You are old if...

You remember when only sailors, bikers, and convicts had tattoos...

Brian 162 06-26-2010 01:29 PM

I remember when the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup in 1967. I was 7.

Hugh R 06-26-2010 02:02 PM

Going out side at night with your parents and looking up in the sky for Sputnik and Telstar.

Scott Douglas 06-27-2010 06:53 PM

You know you're old if you can remember having a Howdy Doody tool box.
