Use this vid to get your juices flowing...
Excellent piece about how this student-made video was seen by Donovan Wednesday night after the game... Student's video tribute to Donovan a hit - International Football - Yahoo! Sports

I'm actually watching this game. I believe it's the first soccer game I've watched without being in uniform on the sidelines. Not quite as boring as I expected, but could do without the annoying horns and commentators.

Is that Phil from OLN cycling coverage doing the commentary or did I just say that everyone with a foreign accent sounds the same?

Ghana played well... especially in the first half when our guys were playing sorta soft... those guys are really quick on the ball.
In postgame analysis, Alexi Lalas said we left a lot to be desired the first half, but that Ghana was really gassed at the end of game and the break until overtime gave them needed time to rest/regroup... implying if that brief break hadn't occurred, we might have had the upper hand. Water under the bridge... we faltered early, were fighting back the whole time, and they beat us. It's gonna be interesting to see how they fare in their upcoming game/s... I see good things for them. Sorta pulling for them too, since they're the last African team in it.

The US does not have any guys who are pure finishers. Not one of them has a knack for putting the ball in the back of the net (Donovan is probably the closest we have). We had plenty of opportunities to score goals today, and in most of the other games.
We simply couldn't finish. Maybe they should lay off the whiskey before the game ![]()

Exactly. The US tried hard—and I hoped they would win—but they just didn't have any strikers who could put the ball away.

Actually we did that in three out of the four games we played, third time was not a charm, anyway respectable World Cup for the USA. Well, what now? I say, go Argentina, let's bring that cup to the Americas.

I don't know if the US has ever really had a goal scorer.
