Question Sleepwalking

So, I woke up out in the front yard at 2:00AM...

I used to sleepwalk a lot as a kid.

So? I woke up at 2:00 AM last Sunday morning lying on the paddock road at Summit Point.

Lay off the sauce...no need to thank me bro...

You might have been removed.

It was pretty weird.

I remember taking a whiz and then stumbling back through the house in the dark to the bathroom. ( another whiz )
I was trying to wrap my head around what was happening.

I went to check the front door. Sure enough...Unlocked.

As far as I know, I haven't done this before.

This advice is sound, I once woke up at 5PM in a puddle of my own vomit, in the driveway, of my neighbors house. Stopped drinking excessively and it hasn't happened since

Seriously: You might want to consult a pro. That level of sleep-walking could have serious reprecussions (hit by a car, that kind of thing)

As for odd things I do in my sleep, I sometimes speak in Russian in my sleep. According to an old girlfriend, I speak much better Russian asleep than awake.

I've heard of people that have gotten up and drove places and returned while sleeping.

I used to run around the house as a kid.

My dad sat up in bed one night and dove head first out a closed 2 foot by 2 foot single paned window and ran down the road in the rain. Got cut up pretty bad and hurt his hands from the fall... Good thing it was a first floor home.

What causes sleepwalking?

Two questiions.

Why are you getting up at night to pee, more than once? This is what you ask your doctor about.

Do you take Ambien?

I was just asking my wife, she can't recall an instance of me sleepwalking in 14 years.

Some talking in my sleep on occasion, however.
Sometimes, she talks in her sleep.
I think it's funny to 'try' and have a conversation with her.

The first whiz may have been a dream and I do not take Ambien or any other drugs except Ibuprofen for occasional pain.

Seriously -

1) Any change in medications? (anti-depressants); Work/Family life causing excessive anxiety/tiredness?

2) Some are joking about ambian and alcohol. It is indeed a dangerous combination.

3) Sleepwalking is passed from generation to generation (consistent with your family history)

4) It usually occurs earlier at night (delta wave EEG activity) - why you woke up at 2 AM.

5) usually harmless but could be dangerous - your activity was indeed dangerous.

6) Can be successfully managed with prescriptions from your family doc.

See you doc - get checked out!!!

I'm just going to see what happens.

I certainly do not want to go on drugs because of one episode.

If this this develops into something, I'll act.
