Protest of the Day
Two young women lay near-naked Friday at the corner of Broadway and Willamette Street — covered in red-tinted cornstarch, wrapped in cellophane and sprawled atop slabs of plastic foam.
It was part of a national campaign by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, using people to mimic packaged meat in an attempt to send a message: Meat is murder. The display met with mixed reactions from passers-*by and generated a counterprotest. “To each his own,” said Brianna Jackson, 32. “I think it’s pretty ridiculous,” said Doug Bulski, 28, who added, “It’s kind of neat on one level, for its entertainment value. It’s created quite a buzz.” The two had just finished eating their lunch in the Broadway Plaza — a Cuban sandwich and a Reuben sandwich. “I’m a carnivore, and I wear leather,” Jackson said. “It’s a healthy part of my diet.” This opinion was echoed when an observer started a counter*protest by holding up a cardboard sign that read “MMM … MEAT IS GOOOD 4 U,” and another held up a blown up picture of VooDoo Doughnut’s bacon maple bar. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1277593559.jpg |
does anyone think this food looks good?
|
I don't know much about art but I know what I like.

I'd need to remove the label to find out.

Quoting wil ferrell doing harry carey......
"Hell I'd have seconds, then wash it down with a tall cool budweiser......your thoughts?" :D |
"I'd cover myself and brown mustard and relish...I'd be delicious!"
|
Somewhat clever, but poorly engineered. How did they breathe or not overheat? I'm thinking this lasted about 30 seconds.
Apparently they have done this before: http://media.commercialappeal.com/me...ords_t607.jpeg Photo: Ashley Byrne, a Washington, D.C.-based campaign coordinator with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), talks with Memphis police officers during a recent demonstration outside City Hall that coincided with World Vegetarian Week. |
I like the responses from passers by -- it takes a lot more than bloody shrink-wrapped women to get a rise out of anybody hereabouts.

Just watching the Red Sox vs. Giants game and about ready to throw the rib eyes on the grill. Mines a 21oz. Anything smaller is just a teaser. Thank God for the angus which feeds us and makes my recliner so comfortable.
