It's a small world.

A lady I work with called this morning asking about me something about a worker's vacation schedule.

During the conversation she said she met someone who knows me, a guy named Milt. She said it had something to do with old cars. I said Porsches? She said yep.

Evidently Our own Milt did some window replacements for her daughter and had quoted a job for her too.

I told her I'd known milty for quite a while and he seems to me to be an old world type crasftsman, an artist who still takes pride in his work. Not like some fake contractors that just slap stuff together and dissapear. I told her that if she hires Milt she won't have to worry about it not turning out right or about it not getting done.
I said I don't know if his prices are competitive but you get what you pay for.
(I can't believe I said that, I hate that stupid cliche). She said his bid was competitive.

Oh, and I also might have mentioned that milty and I like to argue about politics sometimes. Like wrestling with pigs.

So milty, iffn you're out there and you get this job:
do her a good job like I know you will, she's a very sweet lady and deseves it.

Yep, it's a small world and it works both ways. Meaning that if someone is out there doing wrong, (unlike Milt), it will come back and bite you in the ass.

...more like just an old craftsman. I gave her a very good price but she told ME that she wasn't going ahead with it at his time. And she wanted me to work only on every other Fri and Sat. It's a minimum 3 day job. In 40 years I've never had a 2 week break in the middle of a job because someone couldn't get a sitter or just leave me there by myself (which has happened hundreds of times).
