vintage Penn reel - anyone repair?

i know this is a long shot but does anyone know how to repair an old Penn 716Z ultralight reel? busted on me tonight. went to return the bail and heard a snap inside and now the bail doesnt work. had this reel since i was 15 so im sorta attached to it and hate to toss it...guess i could find another one and keep this one for parts.

know of anyone that repairs vintage penn reels? thanks alot

how would i go about getting it to you? i cant sink alot of money into it...still out of work 11 months now..shipping to france, parts and whatever you want to charge me for your time is probably more than its worth, no? they go for about $50-60 on ebay

You can ship it to my daughter. If you are not in a real hurry for it I will be back in the States in August. I would repair it for free for you. But you must promise to learn to fly fish and give up that redneck style of fishing!

i do fly fish..had a nice orvis setup i had to sell :-( kept all my flies though. i tie em too. hope to get fly gear again when i get a job

Yes, same address. Sorry about the Orvis gear. Someday maybe we can fish the high streams in the French Pyrenees together. Mmmmmmmmmmm, wild native Brown Trout!

Penn probably can supply parts to repair it, fixing the bail is an easy repair..I've broke a few..

Also there is a shop in Seaford, near my house "Eastern Reel" i think.... an old salt runs it, repairs all sorts of reels.. Like Crack, Pfluegers etc..

i have the address...ill ship it later in july and will include cash for the shipping back to NY. If you find it is beyond repair, dont worry about it. i appreciate the effort...I would like it back in the event it is not repairable though as i will use it for parts and spare spool.. thanks alot

oh..and youll notice i started to take the bail off and couldnt figure out how to get it back on correctly..so, thats a slight problem in addition to whatever snapped inside it.

i found a penn repair guy less than a mile from my house so i dropped it off with him. thanks for the offer
