iPod only synchs one way?
I know someone here will have the answer while I page through millions of posts on apple's site. Old school iPod...30 gigger circa 2005. HP computer. Itunes 9.1.1.12 (d/ling 9.2 now). I put some stuff on itunes last week or so and it won't go to the ipod. I synched it up and itunes tells me what I listened to on the way home today, so it's reading it, but the new stuff won't make it to the ipod.
Any thoughts?

Try dragging the files you want from your itunes library on to the "music" tab of your ipod. You should see a green "+" symbol once the dragged files are on top of the music tab. Does that make sense I hope?

No expert here, but I've had that happen before and hit "restore" and then reloaded the stuff from the puter back to the iPod. Restore brings the iPod back to factory settings. Re-syncing brings all you junk back to the iPod.
Wait for opinions from others more knowledgable than me before doing the "Nuclear" option. If you don't have Carbonite, or one of the other offsite backups, you should, it backs up musiic as well.

I fixed it. I rechecked the "synch all music" checkbox and the stuff came over. But it's been checked off for months. Who the hell knows. I'm due to a new ipod or a larger disk. I've almost filled this one up.

Sometimes you just have to restore.... Something has gotten messed up and there may be no other way to fix it.... I'm having to restore my phone... Poor thing just got its brains scrambled...
I'd wait for other options. But its not that big of a deal to restore it |

Great!!
On a side note, my classic iPod ear bud plug crapped out, and I took suggestions from PPOT and found you can order the part for $1! plus a buck or two shipping, found a youtube video or two on how to repair it. Not too bad, but really, really small machine screws (watch size). Also fixed my daughters phone plug and screen for $12. Again, really, really small but doable. She's 24 and thinks it's pretty cool that her 56 y/o Dad can fix her iPod. Apple wanted $130 to $150 to fix each.

hey Hugh I have a cracked screen on one of my iPods-- where did you get your parts? I could just Google it but that wouldn't be any fun now would it.

I just did the screen on my iPhone after getting good advice from the guys here. Got the screen and tools off of amazon.com for around $20.00 shipped. Watched a couple of how to videos on youtube and did it myself in about an hour.
