Glenfrome Facet

Looking to buy a Glenfrome Facet any body ever seen one for sale?

BeyGon 07-10-2010 06:08 AM

Pretty strange looking and at the price they sold new, what is one of eight going to cost now?

billjam 07-10-2010 06:19 AM

OK, I'll bite ... WTF is a Glenfrome Facet?
This thread is worthless w...

rouxroux 07-10-2010 07:15 AM

Funky! I wonder if there are any in the states?

I'm thinking there was an article about them long ago in some truck magazine

BeyGon 07-10-2010 12:51 PM

From 82 ish, cost about L 50,000 made on a Land Rover frame. About 8 made.

MBAtarga 07-10-2010 01:03 PM

looks like a cross between a delorean and a pacer

mikesride 07-12-2010 01:46 PM

Actualy from what I can find.... there are actualy more than 40 of them still in Saudi and more than 10 in the uk but none in north america. I saw one in hemmings a few years back in Japan the guy only wanted $15,000.00 but I didn't have the cash then.
The thing was also marketed as a Profile came as a soft top targa. My thoughts are strange enough to be cool weird enough to not cost to much! There where only eight as of 1983 but production carried on thru 1985...total number produced seems unknown. Also thanks for calling my thread worthless!!!!! Ha! Ha!

Do you really want one or are you just starved for attention?

Or is it both? :D

Seriously... what does it do that other vehicles in its class can't do just as well or better? That long nose is going to be very unwieldy in many offroad situations.

mikesride 07-12-2010 02:00 PM

Hee! Hee! A little of both I guess. I know its a stange looking thing but that ugly duckling has been stuck in my head since I first read about back in 1984. I mean what can it really be worth anyway? There can't be to many guys with this much poor taste in the world, can there? And the running gear is all range rover.... oh crap if its got Lucas wiring maybe I should reconsider!!!!!!

Heel n Toe 07-12-2010 02:03 PM

You could get yourself a Pontiac Aztec to use until you find your ugly duckling dream vehicle... whaddaya think?

mikesride 07-12-2010 02:07 PM

OUCH!!! That really brought things back into focus!!!! Is it really as bad as an Aztec? Maybe I should just start drinking more and keep to driving the Audi TT and the 911!!! Spend my money on an old 1970 ford bronco and go mudding!!!!

BeyGon 07-12-2010 02:50 PM

I think you should get either a Parrot or a Boa to carry around, you would get the same kind of attention and they are cheaper. If that fails get a 944.

Ok after I stopped laughing long enough to catch my breath...... Funny post, I get it! PLEASE LET THIS THREAD DIE A QUICK SOFT DEATH SO I CAN TRY TO SNEAK OUT OF HERE WITH MAYBE AN OUNCE OF IMAGINED DIGNITY!!!

PS loved the little 944 comment as I have a friend who owns one and gets teased about it often!

BeyGon 07-12-2010 07:33 PM

If there was one around me for sale I would probably want it and drive it. But I don't have a parrot or boa.
