iPhone apps updates, how?

iTunes used to have a feature that would check all my existing apps to see if any had available updates. I could then choose to accept/deny updates and download them.

That feature seems to be gone. I think it disappeared with the current version of iTunes.

How does one update existing apps now?

When I connect to a WIFI network and start up the app store application it automatically searches for updates....

I've been lazy and update via my phone.

That worked. Thanks.

I've never used the phone-based app tool before. While that was easy, it would be nice to do it from iTunes like a used to do.

It's still there. With your phone connected click on your phones icon in iTunes. iTunes>store> Check for available downloads.

I had tried that, but it doesn't pull down updates. That only downloads newly purchased apps.

on my Iphone 3g I have an App Store app on the home screen, you can launch the app and
when app loads the update button is on the lower right.

Make sure you hold the phone with your left hand. That makes it work so much better.

Hmm, my iTunes still notifies of app updates automagically. You do however have to tell it to download and install them on the phone. Maybe there is an option to enable/disable this function?

The phone-based updating works fine too but obviously uses bandwidth and battery juice.

Same here. When i start iTunes, it will tell me if there are updates available. If you update them with your phone, you still have to update the ones on iTunes on your PC/Mac.
