Not really a beer IMO.

It's distilled, but instead of boiling off the alcohol, they freeze off the excess water. I don't consider anything distilled to be a beer.

Sam Adams Utopias, on the other hand, is brewed of hops and barley at the strength it is sold and served. That makes it a beer.
