Sometime you guys might let those who do not understand what you are talking about in on the secret. A lot of people have no idea what you are talking about... but it did bring a smile to my face!

Myself its all on a separate drive that no one can get into from WiFi.

Cantdriv55,

Go to your router setup, and once you remember the Admin code, get into the setup screen then depending on which router it is, there should be something that says "attached devises."

See the first one on the list, thats your Tivo unit. Second one, thats your Slingbox. and so on. When you come to one that you are not familiar with... thats someone surfing off of your WiFi...

I will admit that the wifi at my parents house is unsecured... But.... The network can't be accessed from the road and if someone was parked close enough our dogs would lets us know... If we are gone the neighbors would take care of it...

Now the network in my apartment is locked down hard.

I saw an attractive female once wearing a shirt that said "It's all about 127.0.0.1"

THe fact that she was wearing it (and I assume knew what it meant) made her even hotter.

Seriously, trust no one. If you have a friend with a connection then setting up a proxy that you can connect to over SSL (or ssh tunnel) for your mail/web needs then you'll be much better off...

Haha, funny. Saw a bumper sticker recently "There's no place like 127.0.0.1" :)
