Hey, you're the OP with the problem, not BeyGon. There is something wrong with you if you feel the need to take two parking spaces. Either you're ignorant of what the lines are there for (which you're not) or you chose to ignore them - which is wrong by simple definition, especially given the general public acceptance of the reasonableness of defined parking stalls - and you did so at your own risk - in your "new Mercedes C300" (whoa, you drive a Mursaydies Benz?! Jus' like in that song?! ).

(snip)

Cool! Thanks to the majority of gentlemen here you've seen the light and there is no longer something wrong with you (I love PPOT - it's sooo...curative ).

Your last name wouldn't be Pedasso would it Stu? I knew a Stu Pedasso once who had problems grasping certain simple concepts.

Have a nice day...an' y'all be careful where y'all park that shiny new Mursaydies Benz!
....says another porcupine in a Porsche.

How can it be that PPOT guys who are so against government regulation, big government, guys that would do anything to circumvent smog laws for 5 HP, and so on, are so obedient to some fvking lines on asphalt?

I'd bet the same guys would park slap in front and center of a house with parking at the curb when there is room for 2 cars between the driveways. How 'bout it? You do that, don't you? You do it so someone doesn't back over your hood.

Well, WTF is the difference here? Just because there's no line? Really now.

I think I want (read: need) that raised Cadillac. ;)

"says another porcupine in a Porsche."

What an absolute cracker!!!

Bravo! I never use two parking spaces however I also hate getting door dings... but I could give a flying fark about some guy who wants to protect his resale value of his car and uses two spot.

All those giving Stuart such a hard time for doing so... I'm sure you vigorously adhere to all motoring rules and regulations... right?

Stuart993 07-31-2010 02:26 PM

Thanks, but I am being a better person now and using one spot.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/lol2.gif

Hey, you're the OP with the problem

I'm at a loss to the meaning of "OP", please expand.

I just can't believe this thread is still going.

Reminds me of when I first joined PP many years ago and asked about a cup holder.

That was enlightening to say the least.

OP= "original poster"

If you're adressing me, that's pretty funny. I'm reeeal aware of pricks in Porsches and, believe me, I go out of my way on the highways and byways to not be percieved as one of them. I'm a courteous driver by nature, am old enough to have long since conquered my U.S. macho male road rage tendencies and am especially careful not to offend others when I'm driving my 911; I've got too much invested in it to encourage some yahoo to key or otherwise damage it. That's just common sense - and common courtesy, which ain't really that common unfortunately.

How can it be that PPOT guys who are so against government regulation, big government, guys that would do anything to circumvent smog laws for 5 HP, and so on, are so obedient to some fvking lines on asphalt?

Again, if you're adrtessing me, wrong again. Me, a right-wing Republican?! HAHAHA! :D

Again, not me. The fact that what goes around comes around is always in my mind.

Well, WTF is the difference here? Just because there's no line? Really now.

Uhhh...doesn't that attitude put YOU in the porcupine in a Porsche category?

Yeah that was a dumbass note and I wouldn't have written it - or ANY note. But when I see someone parked in two spots, if I even think about it at all I just think "well that dumbass is just asking for some sleazebag to **** up his car."

This kind of thread is pretty much in the same genre as the "I was speeding and got a speeding ticket and am really pissed at: the ****ing cops/the ****ing gubmint/ the fvking *******s, ya da ya da...!"

Pretty funny, really, :)

Update:
I reported the matter through the company's Employee Concerns Programme, end result is video cameras are to be installed throughout the parking lot, good eh?

Wish the property management had been that good after some low life broke into my BMW in the parking garage at our complex.

And I WAS just using ONE space. :D

Trying to find a spot at Costco during the weekend can be challenging enough, but some dip$hit parked a longass pickup across four spots - each wheel in a different spot. Normally that's just idiotic, but the real kicker was they didn't even bother to remove their magnetic business signs from the doors. Made a big deal about it being a "Woman owned business". Women have enough problems with public perception of their driving ability without seemingly advertising their inability to park courteously.

Since I don't know if it was a man or woman who parked, I can only say the perception was pretty bad.
