That's no way to run a business!!!
So I started off my new career today as a musical instrument merchant... I ended up picking up a beautiful strat clone with upgraded pickups and Dunlop strap locking system at a great price.... even came with a next to new case.... figured I would easily double my money on this one... got it home and momma said "that is so beautiful, I want it for my birthday next month") What could I do... Happy Birthday Baby!!!
Not a total loss though.... happened to stop by the pawn shop on the way home from picking that one up and ended up putting a real nice casio keyboard and stand on layaway along with an '04 model black Epiphone Les Paul Classic... Not really the Les Paul that I wanted, but plugged this baby in and it had some great sound and for the age was in great shape... and for the $250. price I was sold... One thing I noticed though as I looked at the serial number was that very faintly above the serial number was another serial number.. Both show it from the same Chinese factory, but the top number shows it to be made in Feb '04 and the second more legible number shows it to be made in April '04... real weird couldn't get no google hits for this type of anomaly.... The guy at the pawn shop didn't want to reduce the price and told me that he personally called Epihone and that he was told it was a '91 model and that only 50 of them were produced that year... he quickly lowered the price when I showed him that he was incorrect and that it was definitely a chinese model made in '04.....
