Help me out with Mac Book/wireless printer install
With my Mac book the installation went perfectly, but trying to install the software for the printer with my daughters mac book if not working out.
The disk reads fine, but I get a message "The HP installer has detected at least one open application. Please quit all HP applications before continuing. Thanks in advance |
Don't need to install CD printer drivers at all. In fact, uninstall it.
If it won't work with your wireless printer, download a Gunenprint driver at sourceforge.net It's free. |

Moses is correct.
Highly unlikely that you need to install from disc. Driver should already be there unless you reinstalled the machine at some point and customized the driver package. FYI, you've got a process running in the background. Go to SysPrefs/Accounts and look for a Log In item that is HP related. Turn it off. Or run Activity Monitor and look for the suspicious process and terminate it. If you want to go the geek route fire up Terminal, type TOP, look for offending process and it's associated process identification number and type kill PID ### |

If the driver is not already present then use the HP CD. If you really just want to use the HP CD you can always reboot and hold shift key to disable any autoloading background processes. |
Fixed it, I just had to restart the MacSmileWavy
