getting paid via paypal

OK, here's a dumb question, is there anything special required to get paid by paypal instead of paying via paypal?

I've bought a few things on ebay and sent people money via paypal (via a CC) a few times, but I've never been paid. Is anything special required to get money from someone? I don't want to give paypal any bank account info or anything like that. I've looked at the paypal site, but it's not very clear. All of their "info" is

Hey, sign up, it's super easy, you'll rake in the cash!

They don't bother to mention stuff like fees, and becoming validated and that sort of thing. I like details. When places don't supply detail, I always assume they're trying to hide something.

Thanks

They get a piece of your action. About 4% I think.

U mean THEY RAKE IN THE CASH....

Being paid by Pay Pal is a 3% proposition.

To sell on the Bay you HAVE TO HAVE AN ELECTRONIC MEANS OF PAYMENT...

SO U GET SCREWED..

Also the the Shipping Fees U receive through PayPal don't usually cover the cost.

Have not used them in years.

Used to be you hooked up a bank account so you could get to funds quicker. The other option was wait for the check in the mail.

I think a bank account is now required, could be wrong.

When someone PAYS YOU with PayPal and uses a CC to do so, they charge a fee.

I have an unverified account (no bank) and I just got paid. As long as you have a balance in your account, you can pay w/o the bank or CC, AFAIK.

Yeah, I don't want to give them an account.

Sure, I can live with that.

Hmm, I've never had a balance because I pay exact amounts with a CC, and have never had money paid in. I'm not about to get verified assuming it means giving them acct info.

I have a separate account at my CU just for PP.

If you have never received any money before you can bet you will have to wait like a month to access the money you have been paid (if it was an ebay transaction at least).

that happened to me but I have only accepted funds the one time.

For the longest time I always insisted on talking to people and taking checks. I never had any trouble but I always either cashed the check or MO at the place it was written if possible or waited an appropriate amount of time for it to clear. Nothing I did was ever that much money and nobody ever complained out of like 150 transactions. Now ebay requires that you accept paypal as an option.

The easiest way I found was to open a special savings account to use with paypal. I don't have to worry about security because I keep the account empty unless I need to send or receive money. It's kind of a pain, but like you I don't want to give out my regular bank account info.

I have a separate checking account for paypal that I only keep a hundred bucks or so in and I don't give them a credit card number. And paypal takes about 3 or 4%.
