STS-134 Launch - Feb 26 - Anyone Else Going?
 

It's still listed on NASA's web site as a "tentative" date but this is one event I don't want to miss. I used to see them all the time (including several night launches) when I lived in KMLB way back when - saw a couple of landings too and the coolest thing of all, the shuttle being ferried piggyback on the 747 carrier, while I was in the air flying myself maybe a mile or two away. I've shot a few low approaches on the landing strip too (you can get permission for that, but don't touch down).

It's sad to see the end of this program - it has really been an amazing run.

Anyway, I'm planning on heading down there for this to check out the launch and say farewell to a piece of American history. Anyone else planning on going?
