Interesting......Warehouse full of 65 Early Porsches + Parts for sale

I get messages from "Bring a Trailer" and the one I got this morning is worthy of posting on PP. There has to be several great cars inside the warehouse so if you're into the early years, check out this link.

TheSamba.com :: VW Classifieds - Large lot of cars and parts 1965-1973

I believe the story goes that this guy just posts stuff for sale at random prices. If and when you agree to purchase, even at his exact terms listed, he backs out or says its not for sale. If I am not mistaken he has posted individual cars here and backed out on numerous members. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that is spot on.

$100,000/65 cars= $1,538/car average.
Sounds reasonable, so what's the inside scoop on "selling off the last of my porsche junk"?

This guy pops up a lot on the Colorado craigslists, etc. and in the classifieds even here on PPOT.

Apparently the cars and the guy actually exist, and there are even a few folks who have successfully bought stuff from him and said he was a nice enough guy,

But most stories are about how he's a real PITA and doesn't actually want to sell anything and is just yanking chains.

If I thought he was serious, I'd buy the lot. Not that I have $100k just lying around, but I'd find a way.

Funny story, I sold a car to this guy two years ago , a blue 1973 911t, he is kind of strange to say the least. He flew to Philadelphia paid in cash for the car and it was months before he picked it up. I wonder if he will sell me the car back. I sold it for lack of space.

That's good to know, I think you're probably right. That will remove any temptation for me, thank goodness...wonder what he wants for ALL of it.

I know the racecar in that picture (the one on the lift). Pretty sure it belonged to a Pelican and raced in GTS.

Maybe this ole Boy puts stuff up for sale to assuge his conscience about having so much money tied up in this junk. So the bottom line is that he really dosn't want to sell..and ifn he does it is because he wants something else....kindo like me...

Ever seen that show "american pickers"? Even when people show up with money to buy some folks can't.let.go.

I guess they go back to film "horders" in that case.

He is nothing if not eccentric. The usual bunch of retarded internet detectives pronounced him a fake on this board so he avoids this place like the clap.

He's not a fake, he's a flake and that's a fact. Many Pelicans have traveled to his Wyoming wasteland with cash in hand to buy a car/cars from him and he flakes out every time. Name one Pelican who has actually bought something from him. He gets his jollies from getting people all worked up over his collection, then just stops responding or rescinds his offers. Flake, flake, flake.

This too. I seem to remember people thinking his vehicles were fake for some reason. Not sure why anyone would think that? In reality its always nice when people who are trying to have a transaction are serious in their intent. I've never dealt with the poster and so I have no first hand knowledge. I think I remember once messaging someone out his way with lots of vehicles and never heard back. So according to ad what does $100K purchase out of those pictures?

How many locked for sale threads does it take to be declared a fake?

This guy has all the time in the world to waste yours.

He wasted about 30 hours of my time back in 2002-2003, when i agreed to buy at least a couple cars. He was going to come down to Ventura for the German Autofest with a truck filled with parts and the cars. I had the cash ready to buy, we confirmed pricing, and he came up with excuse after excuse and delay after delay. No deal was ever made.
Either you want to sell something or you don't ; John , quit yanking every one's chain

The cars exist, they are real, he's moved them from the brick warehouse to the current cement one. SOME people have purchased a car from him sucessfully. For me life is too short to be playing games with him

GOOD LUCK
