virus file deletion after system restore
An old laptop was having problems so I loaded Mcaffe anti virus. It found a bunch so I figured I would do a system repair with windows NT disc. It puts all the data files in a backup folder and you have to reload all the apps.
When I ran a scan the anti virus found two infected files in the backup. Mcaffe said it could not delete the files. If I manually select them and hit delete it says they can't be deleted. Anyone know how to get rid of them? |
Boot wiht a linux live cd (ubuntu.com) and delete them while windows isn't running

Note the exact address of the files, reboot in SAFE Mode, manually delete the files, reboot in safe mode and run antivirus again to be sure all else is OK.
