I'll be driving from Detroit to Cincinnati, OH on 9/10 anyone on the way up for Lunch
Taking the I-75 S from Detroit to Cincinnati on Friday, September 10 in a rental car. Going from one of my shows (Detroit 1-8-7, new this Fall) to visit one of my two triplet sisters. Anyone on the way want to grab lunch, or a non-alcoholic beverage (company business, you know). I don't have a hard schedule, but thinking about leaving Detroit at such time that I get into Cincinnati around 5PM, so I'm real flexible. Looks to be a 4-5 hour drive. How are the speed traps on that route?

I work in Toledo (about 1 hour south of Detroit on I-75) and could probably do lunch. Not 100% sure of my work schedule this far out. Dayton is somewhere in the 3hr range from Toledo. Ohio state troopers are a bit more aggressive than Michigan's. I typically do not drive more than 5-10 mph over the limit on I-75 unless I am following other speeders.

Tab Tanner's shop (Autobahn Garage) in is Findlay, OH, which is on I-75, about 75 miles south of Detroit. It would be well worth your time to meet him and see his shop. He's a great guy and you guys could have lunch and talk Porsches!

+1 on the cops
I travel that route a lot. There is a neat car museum just off I 75 in Bowling Green. Snooks Dream Cars Snook's Dream Cars - Home There is also a good BBQ place in Tipp City (my home town, about 20 miles north of Dayton) Hickory River Smokehouse :: Real Texas BBQ Also check out "Cincinnati" style chili at Skyline or Goldstar chili.

I travelled from Detroit, MI to Cincinnati, OH down I-75 to visit my sister and stopped on the way in Toledo, Findlay, and Daytom areas to meet with a couple of Pelicans on the way. Here are a few pics. I had a great time and met a couple of (as usual) really nice guys.

Dan who owns a 996 red cab, me and Carrerax (Mark) in a Dayton area, restaurant. Thanks guys, it made the 265 mile road trip more bearable stopping along the way. ![]()

It was nice meeting you too Hugh. Did Tab have any neat cars in the shop while you were there? He typically has something exotic in there.

Hugh,
I'm glad you were able to meet Tim and Tab! I haven't been able to meet Tim yet, but Tab is the guy who is responsible for my car being on the road! Without Tab's help, I wouldn't have been able to get Helga running and I would have sold her. Needless to say, Tab is one of my favorite people and Beth and I try to see Tab, Karyn and Griffin whenever we can.
