it is gas powered, perhaps, and he left it unattended, per the news report. the thing gets hot (duh) and starts a fire. then you have the item that started the fire actually fanning its own fire. talk about a perfect firestarter!

"Whenever the seats in my Porsche convertible get wet, I put the top up and leave the car running with the AC on recirculate at full blast. The leaf blower points at the flat6 engine to keep it from overheating. An electric fan points at the leaf blower to keep it from overheating. I point my mouth at the electric fan and make funny sounds into it. Around then, I realize the garage door is still closed"
