iPad apps n stuff thread

So, I'm going to get an iPad today after work, happy birthday to me.

What can you iPad folks tell me that would be useful?

What apps do you recommend?

Accessories?

Tips or Tricks?

Sorry I'm no help because I just got one myself. Subscribing... I put a couple free games on it for me and the kids, that's about it so far.

Digital magazines are very cool. Get Zinio, which is an app that downloads and creates a library for issues. When the new issue comes out, you get an email and a notification within the app.
The picture quality of most magazines is amazing. Very good prices as well.

Excellence is not available yet. I did contact the editor and he stated that since Excellence is such a small company, it may take quite some time to enter the digital market.

Most major news outlets have cool apps.

I use Feeddler to keep up with my RSS feeds.

Weatherbug has some nice features.

SloDave what is the name of the app??

Jeppesen Mobile TC iPadŽ

If you have a subscription for the paper charts, you can get the app and use your serial number info and get your charts updated on the iPad. The FAA allows you to use it, as long as you have a backup for the charts you need for the particular flight.

AudioGalaxy Is what I use to stream audio from my PC. Great for pads and phones.

Airvideo to stream movies from PC.

Weather apps are cool. Get weather bug and accuweather. The rest are only so so.

Bzzt! Wrong answer. Actually, it does have a microphone, but thanks for playing.

OK, I've had a little time here and there to poke around, so I've got some more stuff on the ipad now.

I've got Atomic Web Browser and Mercury Web browser. Both are $1 and are improvements over the base Safari. I haven't played with either much yet to see which will float to the top.

I'm really digging the iBooks, Kindle and Zinio apps.

I've got an HP RPN calculator app.

The Wikipanion and IMDB apps are nice.

I haven't played with CineXplayer yet, but it's supposed to be pretty good and allows playing of videos that otherwise can't be played on the ipad (and free)

There's an app called USB Disk for iPad that I've downloaded but not yet used that allows the iPad to be used like a USB disk.

I like the TV Guide app. Being able to search the TV guide is nice.

I've grabbed a few games too.

Blighted Earth
Implode! XL
Sparkle HD (similar to the game Bonsai Blast which I have on my phone)
AirAttack HD
Flight Control HD
Harbor Master HD
Meteor HD (have this one on the phone too)
PAC-MAN lite
Pinball HD
Real Solitaire

I've also got a couple of apps that I should be able to use for work
Network Ping Lite
MyRoutersPro -- Sort of a telnet/ssh app, but router specific, not ideal for servers. iSSH seems popular for a more raw terminal/ssh type app.

Another option.... would love to have someone that has used both report advantages, disadvantages.

ForeFlight: iPhone and iPad Aviation Software for Pilots with aviation weather, AFD, flight plan filing, METARs, TAFs and more

The Netflix app is good, as is the ABC television app. I like playing Need For Speed: Shift, or I did until a nephew borrowed it and sold my cars to build a frickin' RX-8 with nitrous. Okay, the little brat left me with $200k in prize money but still... For extra storage I've got an Airshare, which is basically a wifi USB adapter for a memory stick (another 32GB).
