Car Show in Eaton, Ohio 45320

Trying to set a record for Porsche's at a Hot Rod show. So far the record is 4 including my own. Not too many Porsche's around this area. My dad is the president of a local car club and this is their annual car show. There are usually around 500 cars and the weather is supposed to be great. It's Saturday August 28th. The big draw is that a rebuilt small block Chevy and rebuilt Chevy automatic transmission are given away so everyone has a 1 in 500 chance in winning an engine or a transmission. The entry fee is $10. All Proceeds go to needy families in the area.

Below is the show's flyer:

I'll be there in this:

Why not? I did the same when I had a P-car...and to tell the truth, I was better received than I thought I would be...

Just watch out for tornados. Isn't Eaton the tornado magnet in Oh. jk.

Have fun and if I was in the area I'd join you in mine. (from Wapak originally)

Pwd,
I'm always well received too. They always have questions and seem to know a little about the 911. You should make the trip in your Mustang! There always seems to be a good collection of fastbacks....and there is always this awesome orange Cougar Eliminator that shows up. I'll save you a spot.

Duk,
Wapakoneta huh? Small world. I do believe there was a tornado in Eaton's history.

According to Map quest, only: Trip distance: 2438.38 miles. Time: 35 hrs 23 mins.

Oh well...guess I'll keep my eyes out for a similar event near here. There was one not long ago, but the temp was nearing the century mark that day. This old Oregon mossyback would have wilted!

Wow...

I was having breakfast at the Eaton Bob Evans Sunday morning and watched a couple of 356s, a red turbo and a few of other 911's pull out of the parking lot next to the restaurant.....

The only other time I have seen this many p cars in Eaton was the weekend of P2O.....what gives? Eaton becoming a P car hot spot???

mgatepi,

Wow is right. Not sure what event those guys were heading to or from but that would definitely be the most P-cars ever in Eaton.....that wasn't related to P2O.

Actually, I think the Covered Bridge run was last weekend. Just verified this. The Tajmagaraj in Dayton was sponsoring a covered bridge run in Preble county. The site says they stopped at 7 bridges....some that are 250 years old!

That explains all those cars in one place.

My Porsche made a trip about that far. When I was finished with my tour in the Navy I drove my Porsche from San Diego all the way home here in Ohio.

Come on, you could then brag to the bmw guys about your great gas mileage you would get on the highway. Also, word is that one of the local Ford dealers will have their GT500 on display!

When I was much younger I made runs like that...but driving was fun then...

About 1300 miles from here to Aspen, Colorado...did it in one day in the old '72S...that was back in '78.

Chris,

I admired your beautiful Targa in Oxford last month. We'll be in Nashville for a friend's wedding or else I'd drive the car down there for the show! It would be cool to have 2 '74 Targas parked next to each other!

geez...now that's driving. About 15 years ago a friend an I got off the aircraft carrier after a 6 month cruise and wanted to get home badly. We ended up driving from San Diego straight through! About 32 hours or so and we encountered every type of weather known to man! Neither one of us wanted to sleep because we were afraid the other would fall asleep. I got home and slept for a day. He still had to drive to Barboursville, WV (sp?).

sounds like a good deal but take it for a drive before you buy it also try to get a mechanic to look at it. Check the breaks, how the car turns, if you can take it on the highway and stuff. You want to make sure it works well before you buy it.
