80s hypercolors

I mentioned this to my kids and now they gotta have one. Lol! I used to have a pink tie dyed shirt years ago. So can I still get these hypercolor shirts? I thought it would be neat if we could make our own. Is that possible..

I looked in to this last year. Occasionally you can find one on ebay...but often the heat sensitive dye is long done-with. Generra, the company that originally made them is defunct. American Apparel, an LA based company was manufacturing these shirts a couple of years ago, but I don't think they make them anymore.

I had a shirt like that, the trick was to wash it in cold and line dry it indoors.

Did not last even an entire summer in Sacramento.

I vividly remember having one of these that was green. It always looked like a bad tie dye. Was my favorite shirt for a while.

This was around 1993.

Our lil one was one she got at Justice. Its light blue until she gets warm them it goes to white. Its funny cuase it starts truning white at her arm pits then the small of her back. Here in Tejas its turns white as soon as she steps outside!

I remember taking the A-B brewery tour mid-summer. Outside in the St. Louis heat the shirt was nearly white, but when we went into the fermentation room the shirt turned navy.

I remember girls in middle school having the Genera ones in the early 90's. I remember them looking like bad tie-dyes too.

I remember it was somewhat of a game to see who you could get your handprints on and where...

In middle school a friend's mom had Hypercolor jeans... her crotch was always a different color. Whenever she drove up after school, all us 5th grade boys would stop and wait to see which pants she was wearing.

Embraer - Thanks for the links!

I know it does seem like the 80's are coming back. I saw some teenagers today with mirror reflecting sunglasses. The other day my son was surfing through my mp3 player and said I don't like any of these songs. So I asked what songs he likes and he said Guitar Hero songs which are pretty much all late 70s and 80s music. Maybe those video games contributed to the 80s comeback?
