A big thank you to the PPOT brethren

Thanks to everyone for the info on my recent Lost Angeles to Portland OR run!

Highway 99 from Bakersfield to Sacramento was a breeze...

99 from Sacto to Chico was a little slow but we made it no problem.

We drove through record breaking heat (116 in Chico) but the A/C in the little Hyundai held up and same with the hotels we rented along the way.

Thanks so much for the offers to stop for a brewsky however we had a long way to go in a short time and friends/family to visit in Chico and Medford so couldn't stop on this trip. If I ever were to do the Journey on my own I would take you all up on your generous offers.

Back to the grind for me.

Thanks again Y'all!

Just one more bump to thank everyone and apologize for not taking you up on the offers to stop and visit.

Rough trip because...

Wife had surgery three weeks ago and is still recovering... I wanted to drive alone (in which case I could have visited some pelicanheads on the way) but she insisted she wanted to spend time with me.

On our stop in Chico visited an old girlfriend who is in her late 40's and health is failing... she wanted to meet my new wife.

Stopover in Medford visited her dad and some old friends (wife grew up in Ashland)
My wife's mom past away a month ago so we took her dad to visit the grave site... nuff said.

And the whole trip was during a raging heat wave.

But we survived, and thanks again for all the travel tips from the folks here!

99 was a good ride with lots of interesting stuff to see alone the way and we made good time.
