Cheers,

Paul.

Fchat has been abuzz with this for a while. And the silence from Modena was deafening. Some owners were getting defensive & others indignant.

Guess they'll be taking the Corollas to work tomorrow.

I saw the 458 Italia last month at a get together here and I have to say it's my new favorite Ferrari, not that it has a built in BBQ in the back I like it even more.

:D

I have gotten several recall notices for my 355 and I suspect that once get into a 360 I will get recall notices for it too. It doesn't surprise me one bit.

Whew! Glad I didn't go out and buy one ;)

Hey, skip the 360 and instead trade up to a lightly-used but not-yet-recalled 458. When it goes kablammo you might parlay it into a new Ferrari!

I am not a big fan of the 458, I do like the 430 but the prices are still high for them :)

As per 'No Man's Land' -- 'Italian trash'

Well maybe a little fiery but certainly not trash. Take one for a test drive you will see. Just take a fire extinguisher with you!

Ferrari said the problem had been traced to adhesive used in the wheel-arch assemblies.
So much for gluing a car together.

I did a brake job on an F430 which had a gate shifter (not the flappy paddle shifters) and have to say that it was truely an awesome awesome machine........had to bed in the new brake pads you know :D

Ultimate Spin? That reminds me of what the Russians said when they had a fire on the Mia Space Station.

Quote: "The incident was caused by an unintentional burning of an oxygen cylinder"

Meanwhile: The handful of owners who first reported the fires - and that were later
confirmed to be due to this problem - will now receive a new model, Ferrari said.

That's very cool of Ferrari IMO :)

One more reason to get an MP4-12C. ;)

BGCarrera32 09-02-2010 08:36 PM

At least it has something in common with my 2000 Ford Windstar. It got recalled for the cruise control switch potentially setting the van on fire. The recall notice said something like "Do not park in a garage or near an exterior structure until this situation is corrected by your dealer."

It's like a Rolls Royce, which never "breaks down," but simply experiences a "failure to proceed."

More thermal incidence:
