Italian translation?

I need someone who speaks EYE-TAL-YUN, as the web-based translators ain't cuttin' it:

"Life is short. Drive it like you stole it".

Thanks in advance,

Try this. La vita è bicchierino. l'azionamento che lo gradice la ha rubata.

Keep in mind, in Italian there's lots of gender, so translation can always be off a little.

Translator sez:The life is drink. l' drive that has it to the gradice stolen.

Are the on-line translators that out-of-whack?

Probably. But Italian is like English,,,,lot's of words have dual or triple meaning. That's where the gender comes in. Hence, I, Gli, Il . Thay all can mean the same thing, but the gender, including neuter (Nuetral) can make them translate different. I guess the easiest way is to think of their, they're, there,,,you get the idea. So when you say something, the situation is almost as important as what it is ur saying. I'm trying like the dickens to learn this language, and I don't mind saying, it's a real beeeeech!!!!

I think this is as close as it gets:

La vita è breve. Vivila come se l'avessi rubata.

My friend is not fluent in English, but she is a native Italian in Naples.

***** of a phrase to translate.

How about:

La vita è breve. Guidila come se l'avessi rubata.

or perhaps

La vita è breve. Guidila come un ladro (Life is short. Drive it like a thief)

Milu, I am trying to understand as well... So don't take it the wrong way..

My friend just explained that guidare is used for a car or bike... Vivila is used in the above case since it is "life" that is being driven.

I am trying to learn Italian as well and this is way beyond me.

I just ran that through the translator and it came back:

"You stupid American. Why the hell are you calling me this early?"

Thanks!

This is a note I'm writing in a gift card for a client who drives a Ferrari. The gift is Ferrari-related. Not sure if that changes the meaning?

If you are referring to the gift then it she says it should be:

La vita è breve. Vivila come se l'avessi rubata.

She says you are welcome to write it either way, but
the above would probably be more correct.

Live it like you stole it = vivila

Drive it like you stole it = guidila

really depends on what you are trying to say.
