Maybe the pirates are not complete idiots after all. I am glad no Marines were hurt.

The USMC are "your best friend and your worst enemy"! Spoken as a former USN hospital corpsman who spent 9 years with the Marines.

What will they do with the skinnies now??? They should have all been thrown over the side after a nice dinner of pork chops!

Really the most remarkable aspect of the story is that the Marines held fire. Fire discipline is paramount for Marines and shows that great confidence that causes fear in the enemy. But, if a round lets loose, it's damn hard to get them to stop (experience talking)!

Also good to see the reputation has retained its ferocity.

The Marines I worked with for 9 years were always a very disciplined, well trained and cohesive group. I was proud to server with them...
