Second Book In The Works!
Not my idea - was approached by a major pub house to co-author (chief edit really) this work. I will have to pen a few chapters.
Finalizing the contract, here is a peek - much more work needed for the structure and topics: Process Plant Equipment Operation, Reliability and Control illustrate the best practices, reliability and control of various equipment. This book is a comprehensive source that provides you with a practical and well structured guidance of various equipment, operational methods, selection, maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability, and control of important process variables. It combines original manuscripts written by some of the major and leading experts both from the industry and academia. The entire book is heavily illustrated with photos, tables and diagrams, with case studies, and each chapter has a full set of references for additional reading. The topics covered are vital for the continued growth of already established commercial industries: manufacturing (heavy and light), assembly, oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical, medical and pharmaceutical, fine chemicals, water and wastewater, power plants, food and beverage, and pulp and paper etc. Book Features Basics of Reliability, Equipment Management, Selection for • Temperature Pressure, Flow, and Level Control • Process Control • Plant Profitability Analysis and Cost Estimation • Process Component Function and Performance Criteria • Pressure Vessels and Piping • Heat Exchangers • Rupture Discs • Boilers • Separators • Conveyors • Distillation

[QUOTE=LubeMaster77;5554703]It combines original manuscripts written by some of the major and leading experts both from the industry and academia.
I could understand the value of this book relatively well, but only if the academia part relates to a graduate student typing up the correlations.

The University guys offer up a nice concise overview of the equipment. I will augment with real world examples of reliability and process management along with case studies.
