Skillet seared Ribeye seasoned with.........COFFEE!!!
Saw this on the Food Channel a few days ago (The best thing I ever Ate show IIRC).
Thick ribeye seasoned with fresh ground pepper/sea salt, then heavily dusted with ground coffee. Seared in small amount of butter in a white hot cast iron skillet, the flipped and put on bottom rack of 400 degree oven for 8 minutes, Sorry I didn't take a pic while it was cooking but do show skillet and consumption in process. OUTSTANDING!!!!!! ![]() ![]()

Nice stuff.
I did a coffee seared pork loin for a competition 6-7 years ago. It took best of show. The entire ballroom smelled like roasted nuts. People loved it. The more carmelization, the better.

Love ribeye. Love coffee...
But coffee grounds on your steak? Isn't the texture awful?

I use my skillet on the propane grill. In the summer time, it is the way to go, don't have to heat up the house. I dig the coffee encrusted stuff, also did a pork loin like that, WOW it was good.

Reminds me of a simple sauce I came up with a month or so ago for doing pork chops...
I hate eating pork chops/steaks because I think it is the most boring meat going... I took a good chunk of butter and put into a small sauce pan... use as much butter as you need sauce... then I put in about a teaspoon worth of spearmint leaves, a teaspoon of Hershey's cocoa powder, and then just a tad of cinnamon powder... then I added just a touch of salt and then began adding sugar to the mix to where it just barely got sweet... let me tell you, you would think that the three flavors would not mix well, but they do and you will want to make this sauce whenever you have pork steaks of any sort again...
