This is not a gravel road it is a river of dead fish!

Wow that place must reek! I can't imagine how they will clean it up.

From that article:
Quote:

Fish kills are fairly common along the Gulf Coast, particularly during the summer in the area near the mouth of the Mississippi, the site of this kill. The area is rife with dead zones -- stretches where sudden oxygen depletion can cause widespread death.
Oh, but this one's different. They can make BP pay for this one!

Must smell really nice.

That is so wrong....but too funny. :)

Gogar 09-15-2010 10:15 AM

+1 BP will pay for that one, whether it's their fault or not.

71T Targa 09-15-2010 10:23 AM

It happens every year, but this year it's BP's fault?

Pazuzu 09-15-2010 10:38 AM

Everything is BP's fault.

Until they make their next internal investigation public, when we'll all learn that everything is actually someone else's fault. It's a good thing they have smart people working their to solve all of this.

crustychief 09-15-2010 10:59 AM

It looks like a bunch of clams.

red-beard 09-15-2010 12:26 PM

"The fish will smell like that forever..."

That is so wrong on at least two levels.

But I still laughed.

An enterprising entrepreneur could make a lot of fertilizer out of that... and a lot of($$$$)

GH85Carrera 09-15-2010 01:58 PM

Only if they don't have a sense of smell.

sammyg2 09-15-2010 02:25 PM

What's the stinkiest thing in the world?

A female sardine's private parts.

Hey I cleaned the joke up as much as I could.

RWebb 09-15-2010 03:31 PM

dead zones are caused by high nutrient loads in the water (mostly runoff from farms nowadays) and by warmer water (global warming)

dead zones are now starting to appear in some pretty unusual areas - like the N. Pacific

so you'd better get used to it

john70t 09-16-2010 03:56 PM

Dead ocean. Start getting used to it.
