Amazon now takes Amex points for payment
 

If any of you are like me and have piled-up American Express reward points for years, note that you can now use them 'as cash' for buying stuff on Amazon. I suspect there is a hit in cash-value relative to using them via other channels, but it's an interesting option nonetheless. Between personal and work accounts we have something north of 500K points as I recall, so a shopping spree may be in order...
