I'm having the same issue with the lady I've been seeing for the last year, and it's impossible trying to discuss it on an adult level, even in therapy, because of the denials and guilt-trips. This week we had a breakthrough and she was able to admit that she's looking for a daddy to take care of her... but of course that revealed that we are looking for different things in a relationship.

I don't know. Maybe living separately is an option.

Hey, happy to grab a beer anytime to discuss relationships. Had the best time in a while tonight with my ex and daughter. She showed me houses like the old days when we were investing in real estate together and then we had pizza with our daughter. We're at a stage now post divorce where we can lean on each other and support each other. It's weird but nice.

Not meaning to hijack with my own mess, but estranged spouse has gone bat chit crazy. She wants a 6 figure settlement for a four year marriage. She is completely out of touch with reality.

Anyways, to get it back on track, learn from my romance induced ignorance that jumping into a blended family at middle age is fraught with problems. What a dumbazz I've been. But the fog has cleared and things are gonna be good shortly.

It's sad. She has so many great qualities but there is just something in her background or make up that causes really small things to be blown way out of proportion. In so many ways we were great together but this has been like a rock in my shoe that is small and not that big a deal but as more rocks accumulate or the rock gets bigger I just want it gone.

Sad to hear it didn't work out... but very glad that you found this out before things got any more serious...
