The only shot I have of the head is a blurry shot after I smashed it with a hammer so the shape is not correct.

yep, that is a corn snake. harmless, except to rats.

Not harmless. If my wife saw it and lived (from the heart failure), I would have had to move.
The descriptions of a gophur snake I found are cream or brown color. This looks more grey to me (but I'm partially color blind). How about a pine snake?

I am scared of snakes...so they are all copperheadedwatterrattlers to me. Actually, I don't mind snakes if I see them far enough in advance. Recently, like two weeks ago, we killed a copperhead near a house we are remodeling. Sure looks similar to the above snake.
