The Official Pelican Sound Studio - Gear, Gadgets and Q&A

Had fun on that cheap guitar thread and thought it would be fun to have a thread devoted to our board musicians.... One where we could display and discuss equipment and any new gadgets that come out that others may not be aware of...

I will start the thread off with the following item... I plan on getting one since I really don't want to deal with the added weight/maintenance issues and costs involved with owning tube amps... would be great for some of you old farts that don't need to be lugging around all that heavy equipment...

They make a bass version of that. Hmm...been meaning to go down and play the Promenade.

On the gear front, this found its way to me this week.

Once again sweet axe Todd... I got a great deal on 4 dynamic unidirectional microphones and cords off Craigslist the other day... $36. for all four!!!!! I am building a small studio at the house and the guy I got the mics from advised me that he had a 24 channel "Hog nose"(not really sure what to call it) one side goes into the control room, the other goes out into the recording room... he told me to make an offer on it, but I really don't know what it is worth... can you guys sort of give me a low price to start with and what your max would be on this... thanks...

I used to have an ampeg 8x10 and an SVT pro Those things sound so damn good. Now I just have a 1960's Ampeg fliptop. My band days are long over. I love the way bass sounds from 10 inch speakers though.

They keep delaying the availability of these things, but I am interesting in seeing what the new Jet City Picovalve sounds like:

Buy Jet City Amplification PicoValve 5W Tube Guitar Amp Head | Tube Amp Heads | Musician's Friend

I've got a THD Univalve and love the Class A tube tone, but 10-15 watts results in a lot of volume!!
