Start The Day W/ Puking - Great

Woke up feeling fine. Ate 1/2 tomato and 3 slice toast/butter. At 6:15 am began pain right side lower back. Not a muscular sort of pain. Nausea. Pain worse. Drank water. Walked 2 blk to breakfast mtg, excused self, walked back to office. Threw up, not much in stomach. Now laying on office floor assessing. Still pain, slightly less. Stomach still feels odd. Great way to start the morning.

No, I didn't drink antifreeze from a vermouth bottle.

You're pregnant.

I'm absolutely not a doctor or anything, but...

is that where the pancreas or appendix is? Is there an organ in that location?

I'd think that you'd want to get that checked out assuming that you're not going to do your own exploratory surgery like in this thread.

Sounds just like when I got a kidney stone. Does the pain feel like someone shoved an ice pick through your back and straight into your balls? Seriously, that is what it felt like. I also had the nausea and throwing up.

Get off your butt and go to your doctor or to an urgent care place.

mikester 10-08-2010 08:20 AM

Did you do it standing up or not?

Tobra 10-08-2010 08:22 AM

kidney, go directly to ER, do not pass Go, do not collect $200

kanadary 10-08-2010 08:24 AM

heavy partying last night?

Rikao4 10-08-2010 08:29 AM

get yourself checked out..
if it is kidney stones..
pain has not even begun..

like pissin a barbed wire...

Rika

Tobra 10-08-2010 08:33 AM

Red hot barbed wire

widgeon13 10-08-2010 08:36 AM

Why be in pain, go to the ER get diagnosis, get pain relief, go home and relax until you feel better.

Hope you're feelin better soon.

Porsche-O-Phile 10-08-2010 08:48 AM

Didn't you say you were on an aggressive diet plan? A lot of them (particularly the carb-restricted ones) can lead to kidney issues if you don't chug water CONSTANTLY. If so, it would tend to suggest kidney stones also.

You're supposed to END the day puking, not begin it puking. Yer doin' it wrong.

More vomiting. Can't keep down water. Pain still. Not sharp, sort of dull flank pain. At OHSU now waiting for doc appt which is in next hour. At least am only a tram ride from ER if need. Not on diet anymore, that stopped several months ago.

Good luck!

Keep us posted.

ramonesfreak 10-08-2010 11:12 AM

sounds like gall bladder stones to me. had both kidney and gall stones...no fun.

Gogar 10-08-2010 11:22 AM

My suggestion:

1. Stop typing on Pelican Parts.
2. Go to doctor. ( I see you are going, good move!)

Hope you feel better. SmileWavy

he's at the doctor's (OHSU) - he should have done what Tobra said and gone to the ER

that's why you pay the big $$ for health ins.

any way, if they tell you it was not kidney then the questions are: did you wash the tomato & how old was the bread

GH85Carrera 10-08-2010 11:55 AM

He should have had something healthy like a Egg McMuffin :)
