What would you offer on this car?

Found this one a little bit away on EBay:

Porsche : 911: eBay Motors (item 130441814890 end time Oct-15-10 14:00:52 PDT)

It's an SC which has been sort of backdated with ducktail and RS panels. Everything else looks pretty stock to me. Good news is 50K original miles, PPI is unknown at this point. Dealer that has it is asking $18k, which is way high, IMHO. I was thinking more like $15k if a PPI checks out. What do you think?

Update: Dealer guy called me and said they would do $15,500 on the car if I was interested.

Do you like Black?

The Dealer just told you he'll go lower... you might wait to see if it does not sell on eBay - they will be hungry then.

It all depends on the PPI...

The Carfax link shows 250,000 miles.

Well now that is strange...the auto report up top shows 50k miles, carfax shows 250k...

And Barrett Jackson sold it as a 50k mile car. You would think they would have caught that. Wonder if carfax is wrong? Here's the auction link:

Those AutoCheck reports on eBay are absolutely useless. Twice I've sold accident-repaired repossessed cars on eBay (disclosed in the description of course) that the autoCheck report didn't pick up on. One was a 20,000 repair job from 2003! Carfax is MUCH more reliable.

edit: for crying out loud, the carfax shows 94,000 miles in data in and of itself, and that's only back to 94. The only way someone could think this is a 50k mile car is by almost deliberately not doing their research.

Just sent this:
Your listing says 50878 miles, but the carfax report you link to shows 250178, all the way back to 156222 in 1994. What's the story? Has the odometer been rolled back?

Someone puts $40 worth of stickers and a $250'ducktail on an SC and calls it an RS recreation and it's attractive? Bad repaint and questionable history, but the BJ association makes it a classic?

But it's been "restored inside and out" and a speedo gauge that isn't original. Restored speedo I'm sure.
