Question about excel
I am creating some spreadsheets and I am having a small problem.
I am centering some data in a cell and for some reason a few cells will not center. the "centering" button on these cells is pushed, yet the data still goes to the right of the cell. Thanks in advance |
Check the format. Some formats always right justify. If numbers, use the format that the behaving cells have, or use with plain old numeric. I'm not so familiar with the other format types.

right click on the cell and select format cell, then alignment, then center.
|
Try right clicking and use "format cells" rather than the button at the top. Maybe there's something else going on. Is it text or numbers? If text, may want to try the "clean" function under the text formulas. Maybe there's unprintable characters or a bunch of spaces some dingbat entered messing you up? I have seen people abuse excel and write letters in it to make it work with their letter head. (banghead)

Thanks guys

Accounting format will always right-justify (easier to visually add). Probably the number type, I'm guessing.
