Introducing the 2011 Mediocrity

Finally, a car that feels like every other sedan on the road today...

Mediocrity | The New 2011 Mediocrity Sedan

GH85Carrera 10-13-2010 04:16 AM

Car makers from all over the globe have made versions that car.

Porsche-O-Phile 10-13-2010 04:57 AM

You just described the entire Toyota product line.

herr_oberst 10-13-2010 04:58 AM

Doh! Its an ad for another car company!

Spoiler Alert!

The fact remains that MANY of the drivers on the road WANT a car that is just an appliance. It is only transportation. There are people out there that could not tell you anything about the car they drive except the color of the paint.

yup... My corolla is a great appliance car. Boring as hell to drive tho...

Brando 10-13-2010 11:37 AM

I wonder how many will think it's real, and still want to buy one...

This is so true. I have a friend that drove a front wheel drive car for 8 years, and never even knew it was front wheeled drive--and couldn't care less one way or another.

Life is too short to drive boring cars.

pwd72s 10-13-2010 12:52 PM

It would make a great bank heist getaway car...imagine police radio trying to describe it.

azasadny 10-13-2010 12:54 PM

Almost every car I see on the road looks like that car...

porsche4life 10-13-2010 01:06 PM

Yup. It is too short. If I could find a 318ti California in red again I would jet my corolla. I realize the bummer would be more maintainence but I think
It would be way better to drive. Like a RWD corrado. :D

Or Honda.
Or Ford.
Or Chevy.
Or Nissan.
Or Scion.
Or BMW.
Or Lexus.
Or Infinite.

Who else makes a modern car?

All the cool different looking cars are at car shows and never get built. Or cost 6 digits.

billwagnon 10-13-2010 01:09 PM

that looks like a 7th generation Toyota Corolla under there (possibly 8th gen)

one of my favorite cars because the handling is very well balanced, the motor is peppy enough, it's easy to work on, and it gets great gas mileage

as far as "mediocre" cars go they should have used a Yaris

**apparently it is a 2001-2005 Kia Magentis.

I saw a TV commercial for the Mediocrity a few days ago. It was a normal ad in every way, with no obvious hint of it being a joke. I was so confused. It seemed to be a joke, but there was no point to it at all.

RWebb 10-13-2010 07:56 PM

"Do you like glove compartments? And cup holders?"

both were missing from the intro of the 996 & Boxster

finally added after P AG endured unremitted complaints...

ckissick 10-13-2010 08:16 PM

Ah, I just googled the Mediocrity. It's a mysterious stealth campagn by Subaru. I guess it's working.

porsche4life 10-13-2010 08:17 PM

If you click "find a dealer" on the mediocrity website it takes you to the Subie site....

masraum 10-14-2010 04:15 AM

Hilarious.

Some of the "Specifications" are pretty funny.

Body Construction - Basic Flexibody

Overall Width - side to side

Overall Length - end to end

etc....
