My tile guy just got arrested
 

I have a unique-to-my-experience problem. My tile guy is in the slammer. He is into our main bathroom now for 6 days and 160 sf of marble on the floors and shower and tub area. Yesterday he virtually completed the tile and only needs to grout and finish. To date we have paid for all materials to the vendors, but have not yet paid him dime one. All his tools and saws are sitting in one bay of our garage, along with the remaining materials.
Last night, after spending 10 hours here to finish the job by Friday, he went home and got arrested for "non-aggressive physical force on a female", a misdemeanor in NC. No bond posted yet.
We need to get this job done asap as half the upstairs is torn up. What do you think? Getting another contractor is a whole new problem, and that could take weeks. We owe this guy $ and we will certainly pay him for the work done, no matter what the outcome. Wait it out and see what happens? Move on? Any suggestions?

I've got to assume he'll be out on bail soon, and available for discussion. He might also be interested in income.

+1 he will be out in the next day or two and maybe he will come over and finish up.

He's probably going to be very interested in finishing the job in order to get paid.

get yourself arrested so you can work things out with him while in the clink.

Bake him a cake with a key in it, so he can spring himself and then lock up the corrupt Sheriff who framed him on trumped up charges, after he finishes the grout, of course.

I had grout once but I went to a doctor and got it cleared right up.
