does anyone know a pool/spa inspector in SW burbs? Darien/Downers/Westmont. I'm purchasing a place with a hottub and need it inspected to make sure it's all done within code and whatnots.

why not check with one of the hot tub stores in the area..i'm sure they would know who to contact

Maybe not the best idea. They will probably have a service and parts dept. People tell me not to hire a contractor to do home inspections. Same thing.

A good home inspector should know codes for spas/pools and know a decent installation from a crappy one. And, he should run the thing through its paces, look in the filter and check the heater. Provide a mask (if he doesn't already have one) and plaster condition can be seen by simply putting your face in the water.

Look at the plaster at night with the light on, you'll really see it.
