Shoutout for my son - formally a fireman
 

My son does not hangout here, but just want to post how proud I am of him.

He's 23, graduated from Eastern Kentucky U last December from their fire safety/science program. He worked as an EMT part time during school. He was hired for a career firefighter position in Mass. last April and just finished the academy.

Of course, it's not the academy or college that makes him a firefighter, it comes from his heart and compassion for others. He's had the vision since a very young age.

He has not lived with me since he was very young and has pretty much lived out of State. We read so much on this board about the negatives of divorce. Had his mother and I stayed together, who knows where he would have ended up. So a thanks to his step father as well for being there for my son and guiding him.

Just thought I'd post something positive and enlightening.

Congrats to him it is a long road to get hired, he has chosen an honorable career, it is the best job in the world I love going to work everyday. He will have stories that will shock and amaze you and will push himself harder than he thought he ever could. After the academy is when the fun starts probation is a tough year!! Tell him to ALWAYS be Johnny on the spot and ready to go.

Good for him, good for you and congrats to you for recognizing the stepdad, I'm sure that is a little hard to do.
