Inventory Management
 

Anyone have experience with inventory management software? Ideally, a system would include something like:

barcode stickers for each unit
handheld wireless scanner
interface with QuickBooks

It would be great if we could create an order by selecting a customer with the scanner, pull/scan items off the shelf and into a box and both an invoice and inventory adjustment would be recorded in QuickBooks.

Does such a system exist?

Quickbooks has a POS module that does this. I helped set it up for my wife's business, but have very little direct usage experience. We bought a bundle with hardware and software.

Yeah, call Intuit and see what they have to offer.

And to make it a few bits mo better it should be veiwable online and talk with ups so that the customer could see the tracking # and you could see the reciever sign for it!

Wish it was all that simple... We need a handheld at work that will play nicely with our POS system. Lets just say that Computer RX isn't exactly friendly to outside toys. It is VERY good at the pharmacy thing, but its very proprietary. We will probably end up running the POS system on a laptop with a scanner and run it up and down the aisles.....

I know its a little late but in our retail establishments we use a system called Open Inventory coupled with a Micros POS and an Opera PMS system to feed into a financial system. It is a good system but many glitches. I'd love to hear about your feedback with the Intuit one.
