Recommendations for induction top cookware

I know, I'm in danger of losing my man-card but I have to ask. We've remodeled the kitchen with new granite counter tops, new sink and faucet, and a new induction cook top. As luck would have it, we only have one pan that will work on the cook top so I'm looking for any recommendations as to where to buy cookware and if you have a preferred brand. My wife found a 13-piece set by Calphalon for about $400 and I'm curious if I can find a better deal.

My man card is long gone.....I got The Emeril set for $199.

The sides are a bit thin, but the base heats nice and even and holds heat well.

I bought Calphalon years ago, and have had the 4 1/2 qt sauce pan replaced twice because of "silvering" i.e. the anodizing erodes away, and raw aluminum is exposed.. Basically a cosmetic thing..

If I were to do it again I'd buy All-Clad, or some cookware that is the interior is stainless, exterior aluminum, or copper, or a tri-ply..

We got a set of Emeril a few years ago, I think they might be better now but I wouldn't buy what we got again. The layered copper bottom has separated on a couple of them.

All Clad is the way to go!!

I have All Clad, then I bought a Lodge pre-seasoned cast iron set.... the deal is with cast iron you can be really rough with it an don't have to worry about it. Cast iron is the way to go for REAL cooks.

We have an induction cooktop.

Get the All Clad and be done with it. You need the standard ones, some of the copper ones aren't compatible.

We got a 5pc set (3 pans, 2 lids) around XMas last year for $300, another $100 would by you one or two more. Much better way to spend $400 IMO than on 13, half of which you'll hardly use.

Just because something will work doesn't mean it'll work well. We have some cheap to mid-range pans that came with the house and they don't get nearly as hot as the All Clads.

Here is the set: All-Clad Stainless Steel 5- Piece Set - Sur La Table

Amazon has a 7pc for slightly more, but I believe they are a bit smaller, this gets you a couple of good size starters.

Thanks for the info....I'll pass on everything and let her make the decision since she cooks 90% of the time.
