Hmm.... Good thing I'm not too interested in having kids.... I've drank a ton of water from Nalgene bottles.... and I only have one that is new enough to be BPA free...

probably cold water - re-heating food in plastic is more likely to contaminate it

warming up a bottle of milk, say

The only thing that bothers me... Some of those water bottles get pretty warm riding around in the pack on a 100degree day..


I'm not too worried either way....

The local 7-11 has cases of water that sit outside the front doors. Looks like they get beat on pretty good during the summertime.

it'll be a time x temperature relation - water bottle << big water jug sitting out there for weeks, unless you let water sit in your pack for weeks

Here are the cases that always sit and bake at the local 7-11. Pic was taken towards the end of the day, but in summer they're lit up for hours under the hot sun.
