Poor kids
Okay so the oldest grandson is spending the weekend, (he is almost 4) and one of the things he loves is just a box of cereal. No milk, no bowl, just reach in and grab some and off again. (the kid never sits)
Anywho, Grandmom lets him pick what he wants from the store, and of course, he grabs the Choco-glazed puffs with marshmallow bits, and caramel injected goodness, typical kid, but I am reading the box, and WTF.....................Whole grain..............vitamins....................... .and a weak and feeble attempt at health. Poor kids today don't truly know what absolute junk is all about. Before you flame me, my grandson is not the video and TV type, he eats very well, loves veggies and is always moving and doing, so if he wants to have some crap food to munch on, he is allowed.

I was always allowed to have Froot Loops when I visited my Nana. I even had a special bowl for them, with a toucan on it.
Of course, I lost my taste for sugar cereals once I discovered her home made cinnamon buns. |

I've always let my kids eat whatever they want. I feel if you deny them stuff then they'll want it even more. Within reason.
They've been with me full time for over 6 years now and things are good. The girls like cooking and we cook all sorts. From Italian, Greek - Mediterranean to Indian, Chinese food and good old fashioned roast with veggies in the oven. My theory is kids need a good example... So I eat well, they see me eating well and they do the same. It realy does work. (Plus I do the grocery shopping) I also walk most days and make sure they know it. They turned out alright...

Every now and then Steve and I will STILL eat Fruit Loops. No milk for me, just a little sugary dry snack. mmmm...

I was a fruit loop fan back in the day, but I don't care for them these days. I will occasionally get Captain Crunch or Lucky Charms or Coco Crispys.
