				New Bass!!!!

OK, so I had a new six string bass built for me from a company called Warmoth. It is a six string, swamp ash body with walnut top. Neck is wenge with an ebony fingerboard.

			I'm curious - why Bartolinis?

Also which ones? I'm kinda partial to the Classic Bass P/J, specifically the P pickup. Either that or the DiMarzio Ultra Jazz. But, oh yeah, you said 6-string.... |

Bartolini's because I think they are by far and wide the best bass pickup out there. They have tons of tone, a "holy shait" amount of punch and power, and I love them on my current Tobias 4 string. To be honest anyone who plays my Tobias comments that it's just about the best sound they have ever heard from a bass. Now that is also attributed to the fact that it is a Tobias, but the Barts just accentuate it. I have had Seymour Duncans, EMG's and the like, and I 100% will stay with Bartolini's.

I am not sure which Bart's I will be using as the luthier who is going to put it all together for me is actually in California working with Bill Bartolini to come up with and test new pickups. I am most likely going to go with whatever he recommends in a P4 configuration. Oh yes, it is a Gecko. Love their overall body style. In lieu of a Gecko on the fretboard I am going to put a Rooster on the headstock...my nickname. Once all complete expect pics and soundclips! |
