(Local) Music Talent Thread
Hi guys, been a while since I've posted in OT.
I did a search and after about 10 pages decided that a music talent thread probably didn't exist, sooooo....... Here's my fried Lori, who sang at our little pumpkin patch fair in two performances. She sings mainly for fun, and it gives her joy to perform. I think the world of her, so be nice or I'll find out where you live and donkey punch your ass, lol j/k. No seriously, I would. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dgTsyA2a_UU?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dgTsyA2a_UU?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/of66E5CvWSA?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/of66E5CvWSA?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> |
nice voice. i only listened to about half.
better on the first one, a bit pitchy on the second. perhaps a bit of a stretch for her but , she has a pretty big range. strong voice too. she definately has something to work with. me- (drums, guitar, FOH tech and some recording), i cant sing a lick. my ears are shot now, tinitus in my left so i think my music is done. this is on a laptop, it may be the parts she is singing on the second, but again, my ears are shot. i dont think that deserves a butt whooopin. ( i would definately put her in my band, well, im not in one anymore) |
Haha! I was kidding about that!
Thank you for taking a look! |
Drummer here, absolutely NO singing.
I think she has a pretty good voice and it fits well with the style of music they are performing in the videos. She doesn't sing the material like it's karaoke, which is good. Trust me, I have heard much worse from persons who thought they were the next Axl Rose, DLR, etc. |

Thanks guys, and here is another one that I did. My video skills are really awful, because I'm just now learning how to make them. I never really had any reason to do them before. Lori is a manager for a large company, and her co-workers didn't even know she sings - she keeps it that low key. But like I said, it gives her much joy, and there is a lot of closeness and friendship with the band, which I think comes through in these videos. I asked her to come out of "retirement" and do these performances, and they only had a few weeks to rehearse. |
I showed my friend, who is under contract as a singer/composer with Universal Music.
These were his favorites. I'm NOT trying to get a critique going, just sharing an aspect of my life, and I hope someone out there enjoys her music as well as I. I just love this woman. 1 - the music starts at about 1:00 in on this video: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0YvxwtsRE0w?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0YvxwtsRE0w?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> And this one is my favorite 2 - <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/T6QOPA-t2QY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/T6QOPA-t2QY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> |
I forgot all about this thread.
We did some more vids a few months ago (at Borders Books and Music): <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/l4Dgi9EigZY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UnmM8I2pd1I?hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
